About Us
Founded in 1979, Badminton Résidence Walfer quickly established itself as an important part of the Luxembourg badminton community. After a challenging first season, which ended in relegation, the club reorganised and soon began to achieve its first successes. This era, marked by a friendly rivalry with the club from Dudelange, culminated in winning our first national championship title in 1984.
Thanks to the arrival of several experienced Luxembourgish players, the contribution of Danish players, and the integration of talented juniors from our own youth academy, Résidence Walfer entered its golden era. Between 1987 and 1992, the club dominated Luxembourg badminton, securing six national championship titles and winning the Luxembourg Cup six years in a row (1988–1992).
These achievements allowed Résidence Walfer to participate three times in the European Club Championships in 1991, with appearances in Edegem (Belgium), Sofia (Bulgaria) and Most (Czech Republic).
In the years that followed, results were more modest. Our first team moved regularly between Division 1 and the National Division, while the second team impressively climbed from Division 4 to Division 2 in just two consecutive seasons.
The season 2025-2026 marks an important milestone, as we now compete with four teams.
Today, Résidence Walfer has around 200 members, half of whom are juniors — a sign of our strong commitment to youth development and our vibrant club culture.
